The day started with winds so light that we wondered whether we could get 12 races completed. In 90 minutes we finished six, took a 15-minute break, and started again. In that brief time, the wind had shifted completely and began to build. In less than an hour we knocked out the next six.
Dean Johnson didn't seem to care what kind of wind we had. Light, puffy, east or west didn't matter. After knocking out two sub-par finishes (a second and a fourth), Dean finished with a net total of 10 for 10 races. Dominating.
Just behind Dean (okay, well behind), a cluster of three: Mike Hester, Bruce Rasch, and me. Mike Hester and I finished with a net 35, but his pair of deuces beat my single deuce in the tiebreaker. Bruce was just one point back.
In all, we had 9 competitors for the day, all enjoying comfortable temperatures and a bit of a return to normal
